In Memory of Her

Michael Card is by far my favorite song writer. In general I find him to be both brilliant and humble. In 2011, I had the opportunity to talk with him for a couple of hours. You can watch the interview we did about the ideas around the phrase he uses: biblical imagination.

Recently, Mike published his book on The Gospel of Mark. It is one that I highly recommend. In dealing with Mark 14, he turns his attention to the story of the woman who anoints Jesus with the expensive perfume and how some scorned the act as wasteful. But, in verse 9, Jesus tells the group, “I assure you: Wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the wold work, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her.” It is an astounding honor placed upon her by the Christ. Here’s Mike a short video of Mike describing the scene. Enjoy.
