Jesus is the true and better… everything

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the subject of creativity, beauty, and art. Rarely do I feel like an artisan. However, on those occasions when a well-crafted sentence sneaks into one of my sermons or written works, I rejoice. The gospel is an act of beauty and lavished love upon us. It deserves our best descriptors when it is communicated.

A communicator who epitomizes this is Timothy Keller. He is the pastor Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. Keller is also the best-selling author of several books including The Reason for God. He is an artist with words. One of my favorite snippets from his speaking is the following description of how Jesus is the true and better hope we hold. I would encourage you to take two minutes of your day to take in the content and enjoy the form.
