Small Groups

Input on Bible Study Prototypes

May 30, 2013, 1 Comment

Lab beakersThe list of names seem to be endless: Small Groups. Life Groups. Adult Bible Fellowships. Children’s Sunday School. Student Bible Studies. And on and on and on it goes. But whatever your church calls it, the role of the small group gathering is critical to the life of a church. The small group is where people can move into more intimate relationships, explore questions about the big issues of eternity, and study the wisdom of the Scriptures.

As part of the work I’m currently engaged with at LifeWay, we are moving toward a new cycle of the Bible study materials called “Explore the Bible.” It is currently in use by more than one million adults each week. It is a book-by-book survey of the Bible that spans eight years. In the Fall of 2014, we will begin a new nine-year cycle for the adult material and also launch versions for young adults, students, children, and adult small groups that meet less frequently than on-campus groups.

We want to hear from you about an updated version of the content. So, I’d like to invite you to visit our LifeWay Lab site. You will find a link to the “Explore the Bible” prototypes for all age groups. If you could take a few moments, sign in, download the prototypes, and give us some feedback. Share it with your small group or Sunday School class or whatever you call it in your church family. We want to continue providing solid Bible study material to the church. Any help you can give us in the process would be a significant help to more than a million people. Literally.
