One Sentence Book Reviews: November 2015 Edition
Each month, I will offer up one-sentence reviews of the books I am reading or using in my studies this year. I hope you find them helpful.
Hebrews: A 12-Week Study by Matt Capps – From the “Knowing the Bible” series edited by J.I. Packer, it is an accessible and easily-led Bible study written by a trustworthy pastor.
Basic Christian Leadership: Biblical Models of Church, Gospel and Ministry by John Stott – Only five chapters in length, but as to be expected, Stott offers deep theological and biblical reflection on the nature of leadership required for church life.
Preaching: Communicating Faith in an Age of Skepticism by Timothy Keller – Every pastor and Bible study group leader should read this book in order to sharpen their abilities to teach the Word in a way that meets people at the point of their needs and doubts.
The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey – Haunting character development centered around a little girl named Melanie in this dystopian novel about diseases, zombie-like creatures, and what we would do to save humanity.
