Reckless Love – Acoustic Version
In his book The Prodigal God, Tim Keller gave a new spin on an old term. He took the parable of the prodigal son and turned it around for us. Using the father character in Jesus’ parable, Keller teased out for us how wild and extravagant the love of God truly is. In the face of our rebellion and sin, it is wildly overwhelming.
In a similar fashion but from a different stream of modern Evangelicalism, Cory Asbury of Bethel Worship has given us the new song “Reckless Love.” The original version is a current staple on contemporary Christian radio stations. But, honestly, I’m a big fan of acoustic covers. I’m glad that Asbury produced one that just lets the lyrics simply stand on their own.
